Myrtle Beach FC settles on Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium as home field
Myrtle Beach is set to welcome NPSL soccer to the community. With its inaugural season on the horizon, the football club has chosen Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium to be its new home. The stadium has a FieldTurf surface, and the club is very much excited to play its games on FieldTurf.
“The pitch is fast”, said head coach Patrick Olalere who’s also a former professional soccer player. “We have to get our guys used to this field, and once they are teams won’t know what hit them! We could be up 2-0 in an instant!”
Choosing the appropriate surface is a big decision, especially in the world of soccer. It’s all about having the right fit that the players are comfortable with. Myrtle Beach FC immediately identified FieldTurf as its surface of preference, as has the international soccer community. FieldTurf has 180 FIFA certified fields, implying that FieldTurf meets the criteria for producing quality fields according to FIFA standards. No other competing brand has as many certified fields, demonstrating the strength and recognition FieldTurf is garnering within the world’s most prestigious soccer organization. With improved technology, and a system that provides users with a safe and durable product – there’s no question Myrtle Beach FC and FieldTurf will prove to be a winning formula for many years to come!
FieldTurf is also home to many MLS venues such as CenturyLink field, home of the Seattle Sounders and Jeld-Wen Field, home of the Portland Timbers. With the sport currently on the rise in North America, FieldTurf is taking charge and improving the way soccer is being played. Teams such as Myrtle Beach FC are sold and ready to thrive in what surely will be a proud institution for this community in South Carolina.
